A privy cleaning apparatus
This picture was taken in the late 1800s.What you see is a machine used to clean out out house pits.The liquid contents was sucked out and brought to dump yards.The remaining solid contents was shoveled out by hand.

Where did the honey dippers dump all that stuff? Good luck in 2010!!


They used big lots to dump or the river if it was near by.In the lots they sorted out all the (bottles) and other stuff to sell.
