Hi,
I have been bottledigging for a few years. I live in wv next to the New River. Coal was discovered and the first carts came out of the gorge around 1873. My question is how do you decide if a house was built say 1840-1880? in my area I dig in individual home dumps. the house has rotted away or burnt down, but the chimney or its base is visible, so its a starting point. I would like you to describe what you look for in a suitable starting point. thank you for your help.
